Catherine & Ngaire
Story
Hi Everyone!
We're taking on a challenge to help people living with gastro-intestinal (GI) cancer, and would love your support for this very worthy cause!!!
Working in the field of oncology at the Canberra Region Cancer Center, we've seen first-hand how GI cancer affects patients and their families. We've also seen how clinical trials give these people hope.
GI cancer includes those of the oesophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bowel. Every 45 minutes an Australian dies because of GI cancer and over 24,000 families are affected every year! Funding is essential to enable research and treatment developments.
Ngaire is a devoted cancer nurse, providing care and administering treatment everyday to people living with GI Cancer.
Catherine is a GI Cancer Specialist Nurse, who is extremely passionate about GI cancers and plays a pivotal role in coordinating care of these patients through their cancer journey.
We love walking, so in combining our interests it makes sense to challenge ourselves and trek over 83km along the Larapinta trail to support our patients, support innovation, and leadership in GI cancer research. All funds raised will support the Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group's (AGITG) Innovation Fund and find better ways to treat GI cancer.
Please donate generously and together we can make GI cancer a disease of the past.
We've raised our target from $6,000 to $9,000 with so much thanks to all those who have donated already!!!
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Thank you for your support!!
